Ron Miller is an author and illustrator living in South Boston. Before he became a freelance illustrator, he was art director for Albert Einstein Planetarium of the National Air & Space Museum. Prior to this he worked as an illustrator for commercial advertising. Today, his primary work involves the writing and illustration of books specializing in science fiction, astronautical and astronomical subjects. Miller is interested in exciting young people and artists about science. In recent years he has focused more on writing books for young adults. He has written more than fifty titles to date. His art has also appeared on many book interiors, book jackets and in magazines such as Reader's Digest, National Geographic, Smithsonian, Scientific American, Sky & Telescope, Air & Space, Natural History, Newsweek, Geo, Discover, and many more.

His books include Cycles of Fire, The Grand Tour, The History of Earth and In the Stream of Stars. All of them have been Club Feature Selections (Book-of-the-Month), as well as selections of Astronomy Book Clubs, Quality Paperback and the Science, and have seen numerous translations. The artist has also written several novels, including Palaces and Prisons (a tetralogy of fantasy novels), Silk and Steel, Mermaids & Meteors and Hearts and Armor. His books have received many awards and commendations as well. Miller is represented by Stocktrek Images, a leading stock photo agency that only deals with highly qualified professional photographers. His art has found its way into many homes, museums, institutions and public spaces. They are particularly liked by those who are interested in the sciences.
