Bob Quick (Born 1939) is a self-taught artist who specializes in wildlife scenes and western landscape. He is an avid photographer and a trained engineer. Quick began working with pastels in 1986. He has won numerous awards including the Grand Prize at the 1991 Arts for the Parks competition. His techniques and his attention to detail give his paintings an almost photo-realist effect. He currently resides in Sedona, Arizona with his wife Ruth. A native of Avon, Connecticut, Quick began his fine art career less than a decade ago but his art is that of an experienced artist. Accomplished in the use of pastels, he entices not only an intriguing amount of detail but the mood and softness of his subjects from this challenging medium as well. Quick’s mastery of pastels has led him to crusade for the acceptance of pastels on a plane equal to other mediums in the art world.

He often chooses to paint wolves because he’s committed to the preservation of these creatures through their reintroduction into certain areas of the US. Quick has successfully combined his love of nature with his artistic talent and was named the Grand Prize winner of "Arts for the Parks" in 1991 and a top 10 finalist in 1993. In 1992, he was also the National Park Stamp Artist. These rewards do not count much to Quick; he says that his greatest reward is the fact that he's sharing his love of animals and his gift with others, and the fact that his viewers are appreciating his work.
