Peter Etril Snyder (Born 1944) is a Canadian artist who was born in Waterloo, Ontario, and started painting at the age of 11. His fascination with artistic works saw him pursue art training at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto after which he continued with his artistic pursuits. Snyder created a variety of paintings and held his first exhibition in 1963 at the Mall Gallery in Ottawa. He enjoyed different experiences during his travels to Europe, South America, U.S. and New Zealand. He would later start painting Mennonite life and held several events across the globe. These included shows and exhibitions in different galleries across Ontario, Buffalo, New York, Toronto, Ottawa, among many other locations. Because of his reputation as a painter, Snyder has been commissioned by a number of respected organizations and individuals, including Upjohn Company's Pharmaceutical Division and Animal Health Care Division, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and more. He has received recognition for his enormous roles in Waterloo and his contributions towards socially progressive causes. Snyder was selected among the "Waterloo 150" individuals who've had a great impact within the Waterloo, during the celebration of the city's 150th birthday. He remains a respected artist whose years of experience have seen him get involved in almost every aspect of artistic activities. Snyder’s creative pieces have also been featured in a number of publications, including books, magazines, and shows.
