Charles Gurche has been a photographer for more than 30m years. He’s one of the country’s foremost landscape and nature photographers. He uses mainly large-format equipment, and his works are widely recognized for their personal and artistic approach. The artist has received awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History, the Washington State Governor’s Book Award and Nature’s Best International Photography Awards. Gurche has exhibited in public and private spaces around the world including: Andrews Air Force Base, Caldwell Banker, Catholic Health Services, Center for Justice, Spokane, Enumclaw Regional Hospital, Group Health Cooperative, Highline Medical Center, John Muir Medical Center, Kaiser Hospital, Oakland, Palomar Medical Center, Spokane International Airport, just to name a few. His images have appeared in many leading publications including National Geographic, Audubon, Smithsonian and National Park Service magazines and books.
Hotels, airports, offices and hospitals around the world display Gurche’s prints. Gurche’s first book Missouri, Images of Nature, was published within two years of him becoming a professional photographer. Since that time, he has photographed for close to 200 calendars and 20 books. Gurche’s passion for photography can clearly be seen in his work. He’s good at selecting the subject matter such that the images he produces are ones that his clients can easily associate with. He enjoys a wide network of clients from all over the world. His art is admired by many and can be seen on the walls of some of the most esteemed buildings in the world.
