David Noyes is a graduate of Harvard University and R.I.T. He has had two very distinct careers; photography and marketing and advertising. Before the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, he worked as a commercial photographer in marketing and advertising and he became the owner of a small advertising firm, Noyes Studio that he founded in 1986. This agency was as a still-life large-format and product photography studio based in Massachusetts (Boston). In 1996 Noyes expanded this studio into a full-service design firm and ad agency. For more than six years, Noyes and his team produced collateral marketing materials, consumer print and national trade advertising, press kits, and annual reports,—as well as helping mid-size and small corporations with concept development, strategic and media planning, positioning and branding, public relations and media buying.

Like so many artists, his business came to a halt as the country suffered and healed in the months following the September 11th attack. Very quickly Noyes decided to take his career in a new direction. He went ahead and tore down the 40-foot corner cyc-wall of his studio, sold his studio strobes, and let his staff move on to other things. Before the end of the first year after this, Noyes and his publishing partner Ward Sean launched an award winning magazine called Experience Outdoors. While the magazine suspended publishing in 2005, Noyes has continued to work in publishing as Custom Publishing consultant, publisher, and an editor. In 2011, he launched award winning AAA club magazine and helped Central New York and AAA Western develop a custom publishing capability.
