Rob Tilley has been living in the United State since 2002. Since returning to the US from Japan, he has been marketing his images to publications and as fine art photographic prints. He sells his prints at art fairs and through four local galleries which represent his work. He also works with three photo stock agencies in the UK, the US, and Japan including Danita Delimont. He first became interested in photography over 3 decades ago. He was a photographer for their college yearbook and spent many long hours in the darkroom developing black-and-white prints. However, upon graduating, he decided to be practical and so he pursued a career in financial services. During this time he never lost his interest in photography and once in awhile he used to take photos.

As years went by, he found himself devoting more time to his photography until one day he decided to bow out and follow his passion and work full-time on his photography business. His images have been published by Fuji Film, Microsoft, Nature's Best, Shearson Publishing, Northwest and Travel Via Magazine, among others. Tilley first visited Japan when he was in junior high school. He became really intrigued with the Japanese culture, and in college he decided to take some courses about Japan and he ended up majoring in East Asian Studies. Every year he tries to spend at least a third of his time on photography trips. Since he moved with his wife to Washington state, he has been focusing his trips on Japan and the North American West.
