Per Karlsson is a wine photographer based in Paris. He’s a Swedish businessman who left a promising career as a top manager with a reputable international organization in order to follow his passion for the wine travel business and photography. His career as a photographer began just as one of many other activities that are involved in promoting the wine travel business. He never expected it to grow the way it did - it has grown to an extent that he currently has one of the world’s largest collections of wine photography. His photographs have appeared in top wine publications including Wine Companion, the Wine Spectator and the Decanter. Further to that, Karlsson and his wife have written about wine in BKWine Magazine, which is their own online publication. They are also regular contributors to a wine-related column in Forbes.

The couple has also published 5 high-quality and award-winning books on wine. And the photos that illustrate their books and articles are all taken by Karlsson. Karlsson started taking pictures as a teenager. What started this passion, he doesn’t really know. While he was in high-school he took quite a lot of pictures and he did all the enlargement and processing by himself. He had made a temporary darkroom in the basement of his parents’ house where he used to process his images. Part of the darkroom was probably the chemistry in it. However, he has always been a visually oriented person. When he went to university, he started working in business and in consulting.
