Cindy Miller Hopkins is a full- time assignment and stock photographer specializing in cultural, nature and travel imagery. On averages she travels for more than 175 days in which she covers about 40 percent freelance work and60 percent assignment work. She has led a few photo tours for the NANPA Foundation and also teaches photo workshops on cruise ships on small expedition-like style. Her images can be seen on the pages of hundreds of magazines, textbooks, calendars and other consumer products, as well as travel brochures. For about 10 years now, Cindy has volunteered to help both the College and High School programs during the NANPA Foundation Summit— she often volunteers during the Summit to carry out mock portfolio reviews with the students. This is to help the students prepare for their real reviews. Cindy also talks to the students about the business aspect of photography.
In such talks, she gives them advice on the importance of sound business practices and negotiating contracts, bookkeeping, metadata and. good marketing. Her skills include Travel Photography, Landscape Photography, Digital Photography, Commercial Photography, and Photojournalism, among others. Cindy assists in running the NANPA Foundation to ensure the many programs that they fund for NANPA take as long as possible. She’s been on the NANPA Foundation Board for several years and she’s currently co-president. She attends winter and summer board meetings when she’s in town. She loves being on this board and getting together with other board members. Cindy is represented by Danita Delimont and her assignment, workshop and freelance career has taken her to more than 140 countries in 7 continents.
