Alice Garland is a renowned photographer who was born and raised in Texas. However, in 1986 her family moved to Washington State where the beauty of the natural and man made features sparked her interest in photography. A wildlife safari to Kenya heightened her curiosity and this was coupled with her visit to Tanzania which helped to launch her own career as a professional photographer. She has since traveled to China, Manitoba, the Russian Far East, Antarctica, Alaska, and Canada to photograph bald eagles, grizzly bears, polar bears and penguins. Her love of wildlife and nature in general drives her passion. Alice has slept in a blind for many nights in Wyoming to photograph golden eagles on a nest. Alice was drawn to India by the tiger and she has visited the parks of Bandhavgarh and Ranthambhore numerous times. The tiger is her favorite species to photograph and watch.

Lady of the Lake, a famous tigress Machali, was the first wild tiger she had ever seen. On her first trip in 2005, she watched the tigress making kills and carrying them to her cubs. From then on Alice was hooked on the beautiful cats. To date, the photographer continues to travel to India and do as much as she can to ensure this tiger, which is an endangered species, lives in the wild for future generations to enjoy. Alice’s images have won many awards and have been published in calendars and magazines such as Nature Photography and Nature’s Best Magazine, Inner Reflections and Audubon Calendars, and Outdoor Photography Magazine.
