Aldo Pavan (Born in 1954) was born in Treviso. He’s a multimedia producer, freelance photographer and journalist. He has travelled to 100s of countries on all 5 continents, working with magazines and publishing books. He has been a teacher of photography in Milan in one of the leading Italian master schools in the arts sector. He has been working on a series of photographic books since 2003. The books are about the rivers of the world: Yellow River, Nile, The Ganges published in 5 languages by Hachette, Thames and Hudson, Lunwerg, Magnus Edizioni and Himhof. He began writing for newspapers after graduating in philosophy and began his career in the early 1970s as a photojournalist with a weekly magazine, covering mainly Yugoslavia and northeast Italy. The artist published a number of features during this period.

These were covering the progress towards independence of the republic of Slovenia. Pavan sensitively echoed significant photographers from the early ages and his contemporaries as well. Through his passionate quest, he was able to capture the moods of his subjects. His creative images rewards the eye of the viewers with loaded textures. Pavan strived for work that’s expressive, emotive and visceral, his illuminations of his subjects was more of a feeling than a strict observation. His pieces of art are easily distinguishable from those of other photographers. Later on, he had begun to focus on travel features with an aim of providing newspapers with complete report packages, including photographs and copy. It was in this context that he began to collaborate with some travel magazines.
