Canadian artist, Paul Kelley (Born in 1955) was born in Nova Scotia. Form 1973 to 1975, he took his studies at Mount Allison University in Sackville. He currently lives with his wife and family in LaHave, Nova Scotia. The artist enjoys spending time with friends and family, working, kayaking, and running on their a hundred year old property and house. His quiet lifestyle contradicts his acute sense of the elements of sensuous allure and fundamental beauty. Kelley understands the subtle difference between “sexual eroticism” and “sensual beauty.” For an image to be sensuous, he explains, it simply means that it appeals to the heart and the eye. That understanding, combined with his expertise in composing the elements of his artwork within the boundaries of his canvas, make his art, uniquely appealing and powerful.

His major exhibitions include those at Gallery Moos, Toronto, Cornwell Gallery, Toronto, Drabinsky Gallery, Toronto, Roberts Gallery, Toronto, Gallery 1667, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Shell Atlantic, Calgary, Alberta, among others. His art is a labor of love and each of his realistic painting is the result of 100s of hours of work which involve the careful manipulation of form and light, composition and color, to create images that are alluring and passionate. Whether the subject is a young woman in high heels or a marine art, the result is a balanced image which is both inviting yet mysterious, serene and yet powerful. Whether the piece is sensual art by subject or not the result is a painting which is sumptuous art in its essential form.
