Edward Selkirk is a painter who was born in Southern California. He later moved to New York City before his teen years. Selkirk was influenced into art making as a result of several artistic jobs he did, including graphic design and managerial positions he held in a number of fine art galleries. Since venturing into art making, he's been creating several artwork pieces, balancing his life between New York City and Toronto, Canada. As Selkirk continues to create art, he still feels like he would like to expand his artistic knowledge and skills by trying out new artistic styles, including collage that he would like to try out in future. Selkirk’s interest in exploring new ideas has been a great addition to his artistic life, allowing him to expand his knowledge and improve the quality of his artistic works. Being raised in a large city like New York City became his greatest influence in art making, having an impact on his artistic style today. Earlier on, he worked in the hospitality industry, but had something for fine art. Not knowing how he could make a breakthrough, Selkirk used to make drawings on anything he could find around him, including napkins and receipts. Later in life, he started sending his artwork to diverse platforms in order to reach out to potential buyers while at the same time working to perfect his unique artistic style. He creates most of his creative pieces out of his imagination, allowing him to explore the horizons of his artistic creativity. Whether he’s creating abstract art, nature, or human figures, he opts for colors that are pleasing to the eye and that can be used comfortably for interior decoration. Selkirk’s artistic works are available in galleries and collections across the U.S. and internationally.
