Tommy Ingberg (born 1980) is a visual artist and photographer. This Sweden-born artist deals with photography and digital image editing to create self-reflecting and minimalistic surreal photo montages that deal with human thoughts, nature and feelings. Ingberg’s work engages the viewers; he leaves the interpretation of his work up to the viewers. For him, is surrealism is about striving to provide an explanation for abstract things like a thought or a feeling, expressing the subconscious with a picture. For his work he uses his own inner feelings, life and thoughts as seeds to his pictures. His work is therefore very personal. Despite this subjectiveness in the process, he hopes that his work can engage the viewer in his own terms. Ingberg wants his viewers to produce their own questions and answers when looking at his work.

He says that his own interpretations are really irrelevant. Ingberg has received international recognition with his work during the last couple of years. His art has been shown in numerous publications and has received honorable mentions and awards from many different competitions including Sony World Photography Awards, Prix De La Photographie Paris, and International Photography Awards. In 2012 he won the Lumen Prize with his picture “Torn.” He has always been influenced by the international world. His artwork is now much sort after by many private and public collectors and galleries throughout the world. His work can be found in several institutions and in thousands of private and corporate collections all over the world.
