Ferdos Maleki is an instructor of Fashion Design and Meditation, and is also a Fine Artist. She was born to a loving family but was predominantly raised by her grandmother on the Caspian coast of Iran in the city of Rasht. Since her childhood, she was naturally drawn to the arts and was fascinated by concepts involving universal connectedness. Her grandmother turned her on to the captivating words of Rumi and Hafez, and as a child she brought those stories to life in her paintings. Her name actually means “paradise.” This is a fitting connection with her current work that serves as internal portraits of transcendental, atmospheric and dreamy spaces. Layered colors portray texture and tones, revealing the voice of an emerging abstractionist that mimic the journey of nature’s wonderment. Her landscapes show an increasingly complicated responsiveness for the ways in which space and forms interact from a spiritualist stance. She lives in California (Aliso Viejo) and since 2000 she has been instructing students in design and drawing at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She is also a volunteer in her community where she shares her joy and knowledge of meditation and spirituality in open courses since 1991. Harmonious beauty is what emanates from her hand. Colors that reflect the feeling of an abstractionist who’s emerging captivate the viewer to enjoy her work of tones and texture. Ferdos delivers a display on canvas showing a significant depth for the new interpreted landscape. She has exhibited at Ann's Gallery, Randy Higbee Gallery, Hilton Hotel, Fresh Paint Art Gallery, Westervelt Group Show, Abra Gallery, and Art Cube Gallery, among others.
