Dawne Polis retired to Everafter Farm in Shushan, N.Y. after 18 years of teaching high school art. She now lives her "dream life" of making art daily. Dawne loved art from her childhood. She could spend most of her free time reading and working on anything that was associated with art. She knew from early in life that one day she would become a full time artist. Her dream has been fulfilled and today she’s a professional photographer. Her work has been published in Making Journals by Hand (Quarry Books, Jason Thompson) and Collage Journeys (Watson-Guptill, Jane Davies), and has been exhibited in solo exhibits at Southern Vermont Arts Center. Dawne is keen to detail and will pick little details that are often overlooked by many photographers. She uses her camera to capture those memorable moments or scenes that needs being remembered for several years.

She’s been into this business for several years but still is open to learn new techniques and styles to help improve her work. That explains why she’s a regular visitor to art shows and exhibitions. Her art has also featured in many exhibitions where they have caused a lot of excitement and have attracted many positive reviews from some leading art critics. When Dawne isn’t photographing with daughter Crickett or husband Dean, she makes Mixed Media art in her studio, where she stays up way too late on Photoshop, or running art workshops both in the United States and abroad. In 2010 Dawne’s Digital Art was featured in an 8-page article in Somerset Digital Studio.
