Patricia Leigh’s interest in art began as a child and she has pursued it throughout her life. She grew up in Southern California but was born in West Virginia. Patricia’s interest in photography began while she was working in Seattle, WA for Microsoft Corporation. She spent many wonderful weekends in their darkroom and attended classes at the Seattle School of Photography. Later, she moved to Arizona where she began a journey from film to digital photography. This helped her to discover an entirely new place within herself, and during that time she began photographing horses - the photographer’s desire to portray the West as she does with light-filled, soft reflections is unique and makes her to stand apart from other equine and western photographers. She uses her computer background and art to further develop the images in the “digital darkroom”, using tools like Nik Software filters and Photoshop.
Her creativity behind the camera continues as she strives to achieve perfection. Currently, her art is found in many galleries, museums, homes and institutions around the world. They have also been shown in many exhibitions and are found with many collectors who price them highly for their quality. She now lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico where she continues to show her work on a regular basis with the Santa Fe Artists Market. Through Dusty Road Workshops, she also leads photography workshops. This activity is a 1 - 4 four day workshop adventure. Patricia has been a great source of inspiration to many upcoming artists.
