Eric Gillett is a graphic artist who graduated with a bachelor's degree in graphic design from Brigham Young University in 1991. He also holds an MFA in design from the University of Utah. Even before his graduation, he had been working with Adrian Parry Design, an organization in which he worked with until 1994. Concurrently, he served as the Art Director for Salt Lake Magazine from 1992 until 1994. He was also given a post with Toolbox Creative Services and he worked with them until 1998 when he became a full-time faculty member at Brigham Young University. Prior to his full-time appointment, he had taught part-time at both the University of Utah and BYU. He also served as Futures Committee Co-chair at BYU and the department Rank & Status Committee Chair.

Gillett ‘s work is regularly featured in national and international design publications including NY Art Director’s Club, Creative Quarterly, Communication Arts, The One Show, and Graphis. His commissioned work has included many Fortune 500 companies. In 2005, Gillett was chosen to create the 2005 Utah Arts Festival identity and marketing materials together with his BFA Graphic Design students. They were chosen after competing against several local design firms. In 2014, he initiated the Ultra Violet project funded by the Laycock Center. The same year, he was featured in Creative Quarterly as a winner in the Professional Fine Art Category. Gillett’s work can be found in many collections and galleries all over the world. He has worked with fellow professors like Mark Graham and Heather B. Jensen to produce several collaborative projects.
