Tim Gagnon (Born in 1980) was born in Northern Maine. As a young child she was encouraged to color and draw. His mother would always draw him pictures and tell stories with her drawings. He says that the older he grew, the more he enjoyed drawing. He would find himself drawing every day. He used to draw animals or cartoons most of the time and found that drawing was the best way to vent in a non verbal way or to express emotions. Throughout his school years, he painted and drew on his own. Gagnon attended a small community school. Unfortunately the school didn’t offer an art program. His class consisted of about forty children. He would enter any writing or art contest there was. It was good for him, because he could gauge where he was in artistic ability.
Gagnon managed to win a lot of contests, and this made him to begin to feel confident that this is something he would want to do for the rest of his life. His father worked for Loring Air Force base. When the base was closed, it forced them to move away from Maine. In 1992, the family relocated to Blackwood, New Jersey. He found this to be very intimidating, because he had lived in a small community for so long. Within a few months of the movement, he began attending CW Lewis School, a much larger school than he was used to. He slowly adjusted and found many opportunities that were not available to him before.
