Artist Ingrid Blixt lived most of his adult life in US, Michigan. She was born in Romania where she finished school but is currently working as a visual artist in Lansing, Michigan where he also lives. Her primary medium is drawing, although she often incorporates in her art a wider variety of mediums and techniques: fabric, wood/metal, photography & alternative photography, painting, digital illustration, printmaking and encaustic painting. As he continues to experiment with new techniques, her work expands and constantly acquires a new dimension. Christian philosophy, Byzantine painting, and the work of Mircea Eliade, philosopher and historian of religions, deeply influence his work. In addition to this, being that he originally came from Romania, she brings with her work the life experience of a variety of cultural environments, which offer distinctive characteristic to her work.

When it comes to subject matter, her interest is defined by the human dimension which also represents the main source of inspiration. Her travels around the country and also her visits to her home country offer her a great source of inspiration, as well as her everyday interactions and experiences with people. She holds a MFA from the University of Art and Design, Romania. Ingrid focuses on general valid truths, common intimacies, and subtle generalities, as: hope, death, longing, and love – subjects that will never become over-used, because they are forever entrenched in human nature and people will always identify with them. The great variety of materials and techniques she uses in her work meet on interestingly prepared surfaces in a fortunate way, exploring the great resources of mixed media.
