Ginny Joyner is an educator, illustrator and artist. She’s had a lively and varied since 1986 when she graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in illustration. Ginny is now freelance illustrator in Colchester, Vermont where she’s been for close to three decades. Her clients include Houghton Mifflin Publishers, Harper Collins Publishers, Sleeping Bear Press, The Baltimore Sun, Gardener's Supply, VCIA and W. S. Badger Co., among many others. Ginny has worked as a decorative painter and restorer specializing in gold leaf, trompe l'oeil and faux finishes. Ginny has been teaching watercolor in classes over the years at many craft schools and colleges. She has become a sought after instructor for beginners and accomplished painters alike. She now lives and works at Fort Ethan Allen in Colchester. She has lived in Japan and many states along the East Coast, and it was in 1989 that she finally settled in Vermont.

Ginny has been a freelance illustrator for over 30 years working in oil, watercolor, pen & ink, Photoshop and scratchboard. Ginny paints in a non-judgmental, beautiful and relaxed atmosphere in her home/studio. She helps people to develop their own style and provides them with gentle encouragement and advice. She’s a member of Vermont Watercolor Society and teaches watercolor classes through a program in Hinesburg and Colchester. She lives with her very talented daughter Lucie, Howard Riley, and Ringo, their Scottie dog. She’s always been drawn to intricately patterned objects, manmade and natural, from Oriental and European pastries, apple core, porcelain, and pastries to complicated seashells, vibrant flowers and butterfly wings.
