Robin Betterley lives and loves the world of miniatures and art because it is an ever changing involvement with materials, both manufactured and raw, and a childlike charm with technology that keeps her committed and adrenalized. She is at once both humbled and proud that her work is accepted, allowing her to live a joyous artist's life. Robin met Shawn (her husband) at summer camp as kids and have remained fast friends even after and moved from dating to marriage to having children, and now grandchildren. The couple’s day-to-day life revolves around their century old home, their work as artisans and their family and gardens. Apart from making miniatures, Robin also designs and licenses art to be used world wide on products. Their oldest daughter, Taryn, joined them in 2012. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration and her work has appeared in Somerset Studio, Cloth Paper Scissors, Sew Somerset, Somerset Memories, Art Quilting Studio and Haute Handbags.
Besides managing the office, her daughter loves teaching workshops and designing new kits. Taryn's friend, Scott, joined the team in 2013. His background is in education, but he has always loved to work with his hands. The team is fascinated by all of the amazing talent in the miniature world and says they are fortunate to have customers that love what they do. Robin stumbled into the world of miniatures in 1974 when she was expecting her first child. She was already into craft shows with her father. Even as a young girl she painted lawn ornaments or made stuffed animals, and her parents sold them where they worked.
