Pamela Smith-Desgrosellier often finds inspiration in everyday things. She’s a self-taught artist who in the past had worked as a freelance commercial artist, interior decorator and sign maker. Pamela has only recently decided to turn to painting full time to fill the void after raising her 3 children. In her free time, the artist enjoys antiquing, gardening, cooking, and traveling with her husband of about 30 years. She particularly enjoys combining her talent for painting with lettering - to create fun and versatile works of art. Her play of texture, dark and light and delicate tones deliver a temperament and insightfulness to her subject matter that draws the viewer to stop and take a longer look. She likes to convey the moods of the subjects and how they reveal their character. She hopes the viewer can find a way to relate to the character of the subjects in her art.
Pamela uses art to communicate to the viewers her feelings about her subjects. That why she selects subjects that the viewers can easily relate to. She’s always had great sell-through with her products, and has spent a lot of time studying trends so that she can increase the collectability of her art by remaining relevant and effectively satisfying her clients’ needs. Today her art has found its way into many prestigious galleries, museums, institutions and homes around the world. Her art continue to inspire many established and upcoming artists. The works are exceptionally good and most of them are commissioned.
