Adolf Llovera (Born in 1942) was born in Barcelona, Spain. His visits to art galleries in Barcelona formed his foundation in arts and also his earliest art influences. This left him particularly captivated by the works of the Impressionist painters from France. As a youth, Llovera studied drawing and painting at the Masana School in Barcelona. To support himself, he worked in various day jobs so that he could find time in the evenings to attend art classes. His artistic family also brought forth a brother who became a leading modern painter and sculptor, and a sister who chose fashion as the best medium to apply her creativity. After graduating from the Masana School, he applied his artistic knowledge and abilities to creating textile imagery. He was lucky to have a wife who was also a graduate of the Masana School, and she joined him in this new venture.

As a talented couple, they set up an art studio for fabric printing where they both worked to serve their clients. Eventually, they ventured into manufacturing and creating their own fashion fabrics. They also developed fabrics and artwork for the best fashion designers. In this same period, Llovera did not stop painting and drawing, and he maintained his contact with the fine art world. The artist continued to exhibit his art every so often, and in the long ran decided to devote himself fully to his first love - painting. He says that the years he worked in textile design prepared him well for his painting career.
