Born, bred and schooled in the Bay Area of San Francisco, Eric Joyner is an American artist who’s well known for his landscape paintings. His interest in painting and art began at a very early age and his in-born talent took no time to earn recognition. In the third grade, Joyner’s cowboy painting, that he copied from a National Geographic television show, was chosen by his classmates for an art show. According to the artist, this remains to be his best childhood memory that helped a lot in building his confidence as an artist. Some of his art works are inspired by robots, donuts, philosophy, nature, science and various types of machines. Joyner’s inspiration from donuts actually reflects his love for them. His love for donuts was as a result of constant bribes that he received from her mother as a way of getting him to church, having a choice since his father was an atheist.
His parent’s difference in opinion over religious matters didn’t hinder his upbringing in any way because they all loved and supported him in his career path as an artist. Words of encouragement and a positive upbringing by his parents played a crucial role as Joyner began participating in art competitions all over the country. His work has been displayed in exhibitions and earned him various awards. His talent in art has earned him lucrative deals with prestigious companies like Microsoft, Del Monte, Mattel Toys, Electronic Arts, Warner Bros and more.
