Miguel Paredes (Born in 1966) was born in New York. He grew up in the Upper West Side of Manhattan on 72nd Street. He’s an urban realist and artist who combines the exciting sense of New York graffiti art with the perceptiveness and skill of a truly exceptional artist. He displayed early signs of artistic ability that made him to be invited to New York City's esteemed Fiorello La Guardia High School of Art and Music – commemorated in the movie and musical Fame – in the early 1980s. An influential figure in his artistic career is his mentor, Cutrone Ronnie. Ronnie was Warhol Andy’s immediate assistant at the Factory during the disreputable pop artist's most prestigious and productive years. To the artist, the paintings of his mentor are the essence of pop: highly accessible, lively and colorful. Ronnie's constant use of fluorescent and bright colors not only influenced Ronnie's return to such hues, but also fashioned Paredes' color palette choices.

Paredes' studies at Fiorello came at the same time as the explosion of street culture in the city. He drew much inspiration from infamous pop artists like Keith Haring and Andy Warhol and plunged fully into the world of pop art and graffiti taking, as his moniker, the name "Mist." Paredes is exploring new areas in innovative and exciting art movements. The artist continues to make his mark by expanding further his inspirational environment. He also simultaneously showcases his works at international, national and local shows to expand also further his inspirational environment. In 2012, he had exhibitions in Seoul, Korea, China, and London.
