Igor Svibilsky (Born in 1964) started his artistic journey as a photographer, but soon realized that photography was not capable of capturing and reflecting all the feelings he experienced at the moment he was on the scene. As an artist, he wanted a level of satisfaction he could not get from photography. Over the years he transformed his work to a new form representation, combining photography and traditional 2 Dimensional art. With his digital brushes, Svibilsky paints for hours and in the process creates the artwork that speaks to the viewers’ hearts and demands an emotional response. Svibilsky was born in the city of Donetsk in Ukraine. He was fascinated by the works of the Russian painters since his childhood. Some of the famous Russian painters that he admired include Serov, Levitan, Shishikin and Aivazovsky.

Their poetic, sad, and lyrical work played a significant role in the forming of Svibilsky’s vision of surrounding nature. Being a self-taught photographer, he educated himself through studying the works of others and through studying books. Many contemporary and classic photographers have influenced him over the years, empowering him to create his own style. His inscrutable landscape images are rendered so beautifully, and they are seductive and alluring in their subtle sophistication. His thoughtful compositions are very relaxing and pleasant and his use of a sepia, warm color enhances the traditional and the enduring appeal of the images. Svibilsky moved to the United States in 1998 and he currently resides in Lawrenceville, New Jersey with his wife, who supports him in all his artistic endeavors.
