Glenys Porter made a switch from a career in graphic design and illustration to that of the fine arts. This switch seemed a natural evolution of her experience and talent. Having taken direction from her clients during much of her profession, it was inevitable that there would come a time when she would seek an avenue of complete freedom of expression, fulfilling her own personal creative vision. Working in the field of art has been easy for her because she has been drawing since she was two years old, and she painted her first oil painting when she was twelve years old, starting with realism. As an illustrator, she was particular about clarity and contrast. These experiences have translated well to her fine art. Her attention recently turned to abstract interpretations focusing on color and texture, inspired by the interaction and coexistence between nature and humanity.

Glenys started selling her new works through select juried online outlet where she was discovered by The Guild.com. In 2003, they invited her to participate in their annual sourcebook of residential fine which she obliged. This venture added to her exposure which made her to receive several other invites. She’s had two gallery exhibitions at Remmi Fine Art Gallery in Denver. She’s also had a number of her pieces exhibited and sold in New Zealand by Bryce Gallery. Glenys was commissioned to create a large piece in the Sticks and Stones Series through McGrath & Braun. Today, her art are used to decorate many walls worldwide, and she recently began a blog a bout her, her art and her creative process.
