Frank Krahmer (Born 1961) was born in Germany in Bad Toelz. He studied Information Technology and after completing his studies, he worked in software development for some years. In 1987, he started nature photography as a hobby. He was always fascinated by the work of artistic photographers like Frans Lanting and Art Wolfe. Comparing his poor results with the best nature photography by other artists, he improved his skills and more and more shifted to artistic from documentary driven photography. After working mainly on wildlife he moved more to landscapes. Today he travels all continents regularly to catch spectacular light scenes on wild landscapes - from the Australian to the Sahara deserts and from Arctic to Antarctica. His work is regularly published in calendars and is mainly marketed by the most important worldwide operating stock agencies. Some of his best images were awarded the Agfa Wildlife Award, in BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, and GDT.

Krahmer was attracted by nature from childhood, when he was always catching small amphibians and insects. After an experience with watercolor painting he changed the brush for a camera and started what he wanted: photography; to enjoy nature and work artistically. Travelling all around the world and seeing all the splendid landscapes he had been dreaming of is what has always kept him moving forward in his work. He often thinks of the times when he had to stay in the office dreaming of remote places. He now feels happy that he has all the chance to visit wild natural areas.
