Lei Chen (Born in 1984) was born in Shangqiu, Henan, China. He’s known for contemporary painting and is active and is living in Beijing, China. He graduated from Cental Academy of Fine Arts from the Sculpture Department. His art is in the collection of Shanhai Art Museum and Frank Cohen. Chen embarked on painting on a serious note at an early age. He developed his own way of producing his art which has made his art to be easily recognizable. He has produced innumerable pieces of art all of which are of high quality. From childhood he was a life full of artwork. He could spend his free time drawing, painting and sketching. His unique talent was discovered by his teachers, friends and family and they supported him. He also knew that he would one day become a full time artist.
He applies his talent to ensure that any piece of art he produces is both aesthetically pleasing and inspirational. The artist recently achieved honorable mention for his chair design in the Bolder Furniture Competition. His use of color and texture displays his continuing interest in shapes and forms. Chen knows how to manipulate texture, color and other elements of art to bring a perfect balance in his compositions. he has held numerous exhibitions of his art in places such as Li-Space, Beijing, China, Manchester Art Gallery, England, Beijing Center for the Arts, Beijing, China, Keumsan Gallery, Beijing, China, 798, Beijing, China, CCRN, Luxembourg, Star gallery, Beijing, China, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China, among others.
