Carol Hallock (Born 1959) was born and raised in Baton Rouge. She loves the unique beauty of her homeland. Carol graduated from Louisiana State University and is widely acclaimed for her painterly and loose strokes in oils. He works can be found in collections across the country and even abroad. They are also found in the Mansion of Louisiana Governor. Her personal Interests include reading, kayaking, painting, and sitting on her porch watching the water move below. She divides her time between her 40 acre country home in southern Mississippi and her water front home on stilts in Louisiana. Her favorite subject is “Geraldine” the egret. Carol often paints the surrounding marsh and bayou from her kayak. She has produced “how to” professionally developed videos as well as books of her work. Her videos are shown on more than 134 television channels across the country and in South Africa.
Her work has won numerous awards and also adorns the covers of many magazines as well as being included in many magazine and press articles. Some of her select prints are sold worldwide. The artist strives to capture more than just the visual, but also the emotional affect and mood of her environment. She’s earned a lot of respect for her use of color and expression. She’s also known for her evocative nautical, regional, tropical and swamp scenes. Her dynamic strokes of light, mood and color effectively allow her viewers to see life through her eyes. Her fascination with wildlife and waterways are clearly evident in her art.
