Haixia Liu (Born 1962) is a painter who was born in Hibei Province, China. His love for art wasn't accidental, but is something he got from his family that consisted of artists. Liu was encouraged by his father and grandfather to learn art. They taught him how to draw and paint and he managed to draw very well at a tender age. By the time he was 12, he was already making artwork for different businesses within his locality. He went to Hubei Industry Institute where he studied graphic design between 1981 and 1983. Even after completing his study at the institute, he was still focused on furthering his education in art. Between 1983 and 1987, he studied at Hubei Fine Art Academy, one of the most prestigious art schools in the Asian country. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Art from the school after which he worked for China Packaging Import Export Corporation as a graphic designer. As he was working for the company, he continued making his own paintings.

Liu continued creating artwork, with nature’s beauty forming his primary subjects. In a bid to reach out to more potential buyers and to expand his knowledge, he attended several shows where he also sold his artwork. His selling strategy started right from his province of residence and grew to other parts of the country. Later on Liu started experimenting with abstract art. With his abstract paintings, he mainly focuses on using large canvases and mainly selling them to buyers close to him. His works continue to sell globally and are displayed in diverse collections and sold through several galleries.
