Tammy Kushnir

Tammy Kushnir currently lives in Chalfont Pennsylvania where she creates artwork. She is surrounded by nature and she feels like that has an effect on her art. Tammy's passion for creating art started at a young age. In her spare time, Tammy is a stay at home mom which gives more time to work on her art. Although she is now a successful artist, her art career road has not been easy. Her creations have been rejected numerous times but she persevered until she saw success. Tammy's early days in art started with creating art for articles. Her art was also showcased in a few art shows. Her art is now published with Art Licensing International after working hard to find a place to license her creations.

Your art has a variety of different animals, do you have a favorite animal?

Ironically, my favorite animal is probably a horse which hasn't been in any of my pieces yet. I also love birds and as you can see, and they appear quite often in my pieces.

How did you get a career as an artist?

I have perseverance! LOL I have been rejected more times than I can count but I am stubborn and continued to keep trying. I started off writing and creating art for articles in Stampington & Company publications such as Somerset Studio and Somerset Memories. I also submitted art to art shows and was lucky enough to get into some. I continued to keep trying to get my art licensed and finally found a wonderful home with Art Licensing International.

What is your favorite color?

My favorite color is blue, especially a teal blue. Blues appear most frequently in my pieces in various shades. I feel it gives a connection between me and the art itself.

What style do you classify your art as?

I classify it as whimsical and inspirational. My newer works I have been concentrating on are more abstract nature pieces, but hopefully still inspirational to the viewer.

What is your biggest inspiration for art?

My boys are some of my greatest inspirations. Their presence has always inspired me. I am also inspired by things like rainbows, mountains and animals.

What is your favorite art medium to work with?

I used to only draw, but over the years I dabbled in painting and the digital medium. I have found the digital medium to be my favorite since it can be rather forgiving at times. Its just fun for me to sit at the computer with the music playing and get to work!

If you could travel to any place in the world, where would you travel?

I always wanted to go to Ireland. Besides being Irish, I think that the landscapes there would be incredibly inspirational and influence my art in a major way. Hopefully someday...

What did you do before becoming an artist?

I have always been an artist since I was a young child. I have just been fortunate enough to be able to be a stay at home mom with my boys which has given me a chance to create more than if I wasn't.
