What is the best part about being an artist?

It has always been a dream of mine to work in art! Every day I feel privileged to have a job I truly enjoy and every day provides new creative challenges, it never gets boring.

Tell us about the first time you saw your art selling online ... what was that moment like?

I came across a piece while browsing a random decorator website, it was a bit of a surprise and very satisfying. So much of this business is done through computers, emails and long distance communication, sometimes I forget that in the end a real product is being released and viewed by many, many people.

What is your favorite colour and why?

Teal, it gives such a happy, retro vibe to everything and can be paired with almost every color.

If you could create a piece of art for anyone in the world who would it be? What would you create for them?

My nephew! He's just turning one year old and lives far from me. I would love to have something like a pattern printed onto a blanket that he can grow up with to remind him who the best auntie is.

What is the one thing you wish everyone knew about being an artist?

Most artists are never satisfied with their final products. There's always something to fix, and the more you grow as an artist the more mistakes you see in your own artwork. Usually someone else needs to tell me when to stop!

Where is your favorite place to hang art in the home?

Around my workspace if I can, to provide inspiration. Living in Vancouver with roommates means that the artwork styles can be very eclectic and space can be hard to find on the walls sometimes! You need to get creative with how you display things and have to hang pieces where you wouldn't normally think of hanging them
