Kerry Vander Meer taught yoga and art for more than 10 years at Creative Growth. This is an art center that deals with adults with disabilities. Kerry currently teaches mixed media and monotype workshops in Mexico and Oakland and has been studying yoga (Iyengar yoga) for more than 25 years. She completed her Master of Fine Art degree in sculpture from Mills College. Kerry’s talents are not limited to sculpture; they extend into the spheres of printmaking, painting, installation, mixed media, and performance art. She has taught and exhibited widely throughout Northern California, and has also exhibited in Seattle, New York, Santa Fe, Chicago, as well as numerous museums and galleries across the country.

Some of the places she has exhibited in include San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Artist Gallery, Mercury 20 Gallery, Oakland, San Francisco, Museum of Art Café, San Francisco, Marin MOCA, Novato, 199 Fremont Street, San Francisco, Triton Museum, Santa Clara, Robert Allen Fine Art, Sausalito, Gallery One, Ellensburg, WA, Diablo Valley College, Pleasant Hill, William Sawyer Gallery, San Francisco, and Bank of America World Headquarters, San Francisco, among others. Her works appear in collections in United States, Spain, Germany, Japan and Ireland. Kerry is the recipient of a many prestigious awards including Millay Colony in Upstate New York, artist-in-residency awards, and Foundation Valpariso in Spain. While in Ireland, she designed a community project called Remember Me to Them (Beir Mo Bheannache Chucu) that brought together many people and involved the construction of more than 200 fabric and paper boats.
