Connie Geerts (Born in 1965) was raised on a farm located in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. While still young, she got the privilege to explore several things since she was the youngest of her siblings and so she got a lot of freedom. During the evening hours, she used to spend time with her siblings, drawing different pictures at the table just for fun. Interestingly, this marked the beginning of her lifelong love of art. Her artistic career began when she moved to the West coast in 1987. While there, she observed several beautiful things that she just wanted to replicate in paintings. Connie found acrylic art compelling and so began seriously using it as her medium and has been using it since. She also started making sculptures and doing video editing. The first of her works came into the limelight in 1997.

Connie makes magnificent pieces of art and loves to make paintings of trees. She says, “The iconic nature of trees, as a symbol of life and growth, continue to inspire me.” She moved to Calgary, Alberta in 2000, where she started taking art even more seriously and devoted more time to it. Her video editing career helped her develop a new style in art, with her pieces showing elements from her editing discipline. She also studied bonze casting from Mexico and later in 2005 learned glass kiln, which she got to enjoy a lot. Connie was so impressed with it that she added it as one of her favorite techniques. She now combines cast glass with other materials in mixed media sculptures. Connie’s creative pieces can be found in galleries and collections across the globe in diverse finishing options, including framing, lamination, and canvas.
