Luis Sanchez (Born 1968) is an artist who is not limited to any one genre; rather, he is a master at many. He lived the first 10 years of his life in Mexico City with his family (a Mexican-Lebanese mother, a Cuban born father who was also a fine artist, and an older brother and sister). A true Renaissance Man, Sanchez excels at jewelry, delicate shadowboxes, abstract and figurative painting, bronze figurative sculpture, found object mixed-media work, and has even designed a line of artful clocks. It seems art was always his destiny, as his mother wanted to name him Michelangelo and in fact had very strong dreams and visions of him as a sculptor during her pregnancy. However, his father intervened, but his mother’s premonition was in fact, accurate.

Although as a child, he spent many hours watching his father paint, sculpture was his first passion. In fact, he began sculpting at the age of 5. He used a material called Roma Plastilina, and the time he was 7, Sanchez had demonstrated an innate talent, so he was enrolled in Mexico's Prestigious Museo De Bellas Artes. The tutelage of his father combined with this early education, gave him a solid foundation, and his future course was set. Today he is best known for his realistic paintings of stunningly beautiful people painted on his signature textured canvases resembling degraded stucco and set in somewhat surreal circumstances. In 1993 he had the first major exhibit of his paintings that resulted in three consecutive sold-out shows. Since then, he has exhibited almost continuously.
