Jean Guichard
Jean Guichard Bio Pic Jean Guichard first encountered the force of the high seas during his National Service with the French Navy in 1970 when he discovered the inspirational coastlines of the great north, Newfoundland, Iceland, Greenland and the Baltic Sea. Memories of his family in Brittany inspired Guichard to research into the lives of the forgotten lighthouse keepers who risk life and limb to guide ships through the treacherous coastal waters. The awe-inspiring power of the sea and the fortitude of both lighthouse and keeper is consummately captured in Guichard's astounding "Phares dans la Tempête" series of photographs.
