Nancy Seamons Crookston teaches workshops across California. She helps painters learn the principles of Russian Color; she learned these principles from Sergei Bongart, the late Russian Master. She’s an artist based in California and she’s been awarded the title “Master Oil Painter of America.” Nancy loves to capture the human figure in moments of reflection and stillness, as well as painting on site (plein air), whether it’s the plain fields with attractive scenes or a cityscape of San Francisco or the Rocky Mountains of her native town in Utah. Her paintings are often described as calming and peaceful. The artist has earned several awards including the 2014 Gold Medal Award from Oil Painters of America in their Master Signature division. She also received the Bronze Master Signature award at the National Oil Painters of America Show which took place in 2013. In 2011, she received the Eastern Regional Oil Painters of America Masters Gold Award, and in 2002, she was the recipient of the Gold Medal Award in from the National Oil Painters of America. The artist has galleries throughout the US, and has been in exhibitions in the United States, China and Japan. Nancy is a painter who has been recognized even by her peers and also by national magazines for her outstanding talent. Her love of color, the ocean and children is apparent in her art. The artist aims to draw in the viewer to her art and make them feel that life is good. Her art is in numerous collections around the world.
