Tom Slaughter
Tom Slaughter Bio Pic Tom Slaughter's deceptively simple work, celebrates the joy of painting. Reminiscent of the appeal of Alexander Calder and Keith Haring, these images attract a wide audience who adore his brightly colored, boldly outlined forms. His art speaks to us all with vigor and clarity. In the Haring tradition, Slaughter's iconic images have been used for a variety of media, including theater design, logos, furniture, folding screens, fabric, and clothing. He even created a series of watches for the Whitney Museum of Art in New York City. Tom Slaughter's art career began in 1983, with his first exhibition at the Drawing Center in New York City, his home town. He has since had more than 20 solo shows in cities around the world including Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, London, Cologne and Fukuoka, Japan. In 1999, he exhibited at the Fine Art & Artists Gallery in Georgetown, and the David Beitzel Gallery in New York City. He also has worked extensively with master printer Jean Paul Russel at Durham Press, creating many limited edition prints.
