Craig Snodgrass says one of his earliest memories was of his mother setting him down with a big piece of paper and some watercolors and letting him go at it. He was about 5 years old, and it blew his mind. Snodgrass continued to paint and draw throughout school and into college, where for reason he can’t explain, he started to drift away from traditional art. He suspects it might have had something to do with majoring in graphic design. Upon completing college, he worked as a graphic designer for a number of years. A few years ago he started to get his hands dirty again and started painting. However, it was unfortunate that he had to re-learn a lot of techniques and teach himself. But it’s all starting to come back now and he’s feeling happier with each new piece he produces – whether it be a design, painting or illustration.

The artist likes to think that he tells stories with his pretty little pictures. These stories are inspired by rock and roll posters, retro science fiction, and old stuffed animals. He hopes that his viewers will enjoy his stuff as much as he does. Snodgrass uses a wide variety of materials to create his vibrant images, ranging from Photoshop to markers, to pencil to acrylics. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and shortly thereafter they moved to an isolated mountain top in West Virginia. While there he would learn 3 valuable lessons that he would use for the rest of his life: these included the fact that the critters always know what’s up; the Man may or may not be out to get you; and that crayons taste terrible.
