Andi Metz has been drawing and painting since the age of three when she wrote and illustrated her very first book in crayons. She now enjoys panting in pen and ink with gouache and also watercolor. Andi enjoys sunny days and loves chocolates. She lives with her husband and is always found fostering stray pups that come her way. She loves to paint and will turn anything into a canvas, from fine watercolor to cardboard and everything in between. Her illustrations are usually influenced by the world around her. Living in the country, she’s surrounded by the beauty of nature but many ideas are ignited by her time growing up on the shore. She hopes her painting will make viewers feel like they are taking a leisurely stroll on the beach and that they enjoy the inspirations from her Easel. Since she could first hold a crayon in her hand, the artist has been drawing.
Currently, she uses acrylics, gouache and watercolor as her mediums of choice on her palette. Viewers will find attention to detail in every one of her illustrations. The intricacies of her paintings are perfect for fabric design, greeting cards as well as other surfaces. With so many fine details, there are plenty of opportunities to pull images and create separate pieces of art. Her interest in gardening and sewing in combination with her passion for vintage art, help her create timeless images with a contemporary quality. The artist uses her creativity in all spheres of her life and her work can be found on the props and set at the local youth theater.
