Lauren Lowen knew at a young age that she would become an artist. She could occupy most of her free time working on her drawings. As a child, she had many free hours to fill, and those around her encouraged her to draw and paint having noted her talent. Lauren spent many enjoyable hours at her table painting from her imagination. She graduated from the Illustration Department at The Rhode Island School of Design. Since her graduation her artwork has appeared on book covers, magazines, and even as stickers. Lauren produces an array of delightful high quality paintings and many fine drawings. She always looks at different methods of creating and presenting images so that the final products are not only inspiring but also unique and attractive. Lauren taught Illustration at both RISD and Montserrat College of Art before she started a new chapter working in the stationery and gift industry.
Lauren always tries to invite viewers to step into her paintings, and share a moment of pleasure. She has been a tremendous source of inspiration to many upcoming artists in Nashville, TN, and the whole world. She currently lives with her husband in Nashville, TN, where she creates art for clients in licensing, editorial, and publishing. She also teaches at Watkins College of Art, Design & Film. Her corporate clients include Utne Reader, Hallmark, Galison & Mudpuppy Press, Scholastic Press, Williams-Sonoma, Carus Publishing, Department 56, Girls' Life Magazine, and DEMDACO. She has taken part in many group and solo exhibitions.
