Katherine McNeill has been painting for more than 40 years. She was born in Vancouver Canada residing in the United States. Her love for art started at a very young age. She enjoys making everything she works on a masterpiece to behold, and began winning competitions for her artistic qualities at the age of nine. Katherine travels throughout the Mountain States and Europe to obtain materials for her painting. Katherine is best known for her lively, vibrant, exquisite 3D oil paintings in vivid settings, from splashing seascapes, larger than life floral to the outdoors with aspen trees and mountains paintings. She paints with a very heavy pallet knife to create the 3D look to her paintings. The flowers she pants look so real; it’s just as if you could just pick them off the canvas. Looking at her realistic paintings, one can almost and hear the aspens quaking beneath your feet, and feel and smell the mountain air.

Katherine is mainly a self taught artist. However, she studied briefly under such notables as Mickey McGuire, Quang Ho, Loyd Thorsten, and Joseph Boehler. She also took brief classes at the Colorado Institute of Art. She has been greatly inspired by the 19th century landscape artists Bierstadt and Moran along with portrait artist John Singer Sergeant. Katherine has collectors nationally and internationally. Having taught classes for 3 years and gave it up temporarily for her career is too demanding at present. The 19th century landscape artist Moran and Bierstadt have had been a major influence along with portrait artist John Singer Sergeant.
