Hall Groat II is a painter, a professor and chair of Art and Design at SUNY Broome Community College. He teaches courses in color theory, painting, computer graphics and drawing at foundation level. He earned a bachelor’s degree in art history, minoring in studio art at Binghamton University, a master of fine arts degree in painting and drawing from City University of New York at Brooklyn. Groat attended graduate and certificate programs at Savannah College of Art and Design and at Buffalo State College, Syracuse University. He also attended summer sessions at Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vt and at Chautauqua School of Art, Chautauqua, NY. Groat has had solo art exhibitions at Cazenovia College, Jasper Rand Art Museum, Everson Museum of Art, Roberson Museum of Art, Finger Lakes Community College, Lemoyne College, Washington and Jefferson College, and Wadsworth Athenaeum Museum of Art, and has participated in dozens of group shows throughout the US.

In 2004, he was included at the exhibition of the Roberson Museum Center with artists like Jerome Witkin, Lucian Freud, Eric Fischl, and several other renowned contemporary artists. Groat’s work is included in public and private collections internationally, including Sheraton Hotel Corporation, Binghamton University, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, Clear Channel Communications, Cellular One, House and Garden, Bristol-Myers Squibb, LTD., Munson-Williams Proctor Institute of Art, Everson Museum of Art, The State University of New York system, Washington Jefferson College and Roberson Museum and Science Center. His artworks are highly priced by many collectors because of their high quality.
