Evelia Designs was founded by Evelia (Garcia) Sowash, an artist who was raised in the Miami Valley. She has always identified herself as an artist. Evelia loved art from a tender age. In fact at the age of 11 years, she was awarded a scholarship to attend adult art classes in Dayton Art Institute. She later studied at The American Academy of Art in Chicago from where she obtained her bachelors degree. After graduation she embarked on a commercial art career. In the course of her work, she has produced quite a number of pieces of art. Her work for Antioch Publishing appeared on journals, bookmarks, and other related items. The products have been sold nationally at stores such as WalMart, Barnes & Noble, Borders and Target. In 2007, Evelia decided to focus on her fine art skills and that’s why she founded her own company after 20 years in the commercial art field.
Evelia and her agent in Florida at Out Of The Blue Licensing in Sarasota, create pieces of art that have been purchased and licensed throughout the World. Evelia has participated in the process of developing brand-based designs for licensees and then designing them. In this role, she worked from the initial stages of a project through to its full realization with a unified team. While working with Antioch Publishing, she was exposed to marvelous opportunities for involvement with a wide range of project types and clients. Today, her work generates revenue consistently for several clients through Evelia Designs by creating multimedia marketing material, product designs, and user interactive designs.
