Jerome Andrews studied at University of Maine at Machias. He’s a self-employed painter with 3 albums on his wall, watercolors, drawings and acrylics. His gallery at 14 Clines Point Road, Leonardville on Deer Island, Canada is opened daily by chance or appointment. Andrews is a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolor. His creative journey is reflected in the evolution of his work. Art emerges from his deepest creative self. Visual awareness is, for him, made up of both an external dimension which is the complexity of life as seen, and an internal dimension which is the storage area of his life experiences. At present he’s the owner and curator of Gallery Deer Island in West Isles, and the Jerome Andrews' Studio in New Brunswick. His subconscious floods him with an array of emotions, colors, and pictures that he’s compelled to express on paper.

The balance between the dark side and the light side lend an emotional depth to his work. A single image can move on a creative path that takes on a life of its own. Andrews’ work describes, through his realistic landscapes, simplicity of life that exists both in longing and in reality. At the other end of the gamut, his abstract work reflects the unresolved and complex mysteries of life that continue to baffle human beings. His art carries him along, and he builds on it until the creative journey ends. One can find him at work in his studio regularly, and anyone is welcome to visit his gallery and studio with/without an appointment during the summer months or by appointment during the winter months.
