Laura Lobdell is a Greenwich Village-based designer and artist. She has lived in Hong Kong and California and currently lives in New York with Xiao, her Japanese Chin. Laura creates jewelry for woman who believes in luck - the free-spirited woman who plays with fire and eats candy. Her work has a luxurious weight to it but is witty. In addition to her jewelry, she makes sculptures and paintings in her Williamsburg art studio. She has exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, Third Streaming, the Louis Stern Gallery in Los Angeles, and the Bronx Museum of the Arts, and has had solo shows at The National Arts Club of Washington, D.C. and DCKT Contemporary in New York. Laura graduated from the University of Southern California, and also holds an M.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts. In her spare time, she enjoys walking from her studio to her store in the West Village and yoga.

She is an Annual Board Member of Art in General and, since her Sculpture artist residency in Maine and after participating in the Skowhegan School of Painting, a member of the Skowhegan Alliance for scholarship fundraising. Before opening her first store, Laura began to apply the 4-object vocabulary practiced in her art to jewelry design. She began with the "Guitar Pick" which she originally made for her musician friends who played in the Village, and would lose their picks, and then call out to the crowd for nickels or quarters as substitutes. Seeing the success of the "Guitar Pick," Laura decided to sculpt threaded classic guitar picks in silver to be worn around the players' necks.
