Ekaterina Ermilkina (Born in 1975) was born into the family of winemakers in Saratov, Russia and grew up in the city Yalta in Crimea on the North coast of the Black Sea. The Crimea and Yalta have been privileged areas of leading figures in Russian cultural history, including M. Voloshin, A. Chekhov and A. Aivazovsky, the great painter of seascapes. She started to paint when she was four years old during her first art class for the children. When she was 17 years old she moved on to Saint-Petersburg, where she attended The Saint Petersburg State Art and Industry Academy and got her Master’s Degree of Art and Design. She says that Saint-Petersburg is a living museum and the rich culture and unique beauty of the city helped her out to become an artist. At the age of 30 years, she moved on to New Jersey, U.S. where she’s now living and painting.

Her works have been presented in various group and solo exhibitions and have been collected by patrons throughout the U.S., as well as international collectors from Germany, Canada, Russia and France. Ekaterina creates original abstract fine art paintings using a skillful combination of application and removal oil paint with a palette knife on canvas. Ekaterina’s inspirations are the delightful and expressionistic skylines of big cities like Chicago, Philadelphia, or Manhattan filled with multihued skyscrapers. She abstracts the urban scenic views and her mosaic cityscapes and emotional architectural patchwork radiate a life of positive energy and balance. She cannot remember a time in her life before she was a painter. Her medium is oil on canvas.
