Ken Garrett (Born in 1953) was born in Columbia, Missouri. He’s a renowned photographer who has worked in this industry for many years. He got an early start in photography when he attended photojournalism workshops which took place in 1970 and in 1972 at the University of Missouri. In 1976, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology from the University of Virginia. That same year, Garrett managed to shoot his first piece for National Geographic. The story was about tall ships. He specialized in paleontology, archaeology, and very old cultures worldwide. He has also photographed for a number of articles for National Geographic Traveler, including stories on New York's Finger Lakes, Bermuda, Virginia's Loudon County and Potomac Highland in West Virginia. Garrett is recognized for dictating trends in the photo industry and for introducing new ideas in this industry, since he combines information and excellence in this industry.

Because of his diverse experiences in this photography, he recognizes the importance of relationships and look forward to developing one with as many people as possible - and he encourages individuals or organizations to contact him to let him know what their needs are and how he can assist. His works have been exhibited at Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology of the University of Pennsylvania, the Smithsonian Institution, and in Japan, Cuba, and Egypt. His corporate clients include the Marriott Corporation, IBM, Starbucks Coffee and UNC Aviation. Garrett lives in Broad Run, VA with his two grown daughters, Julie and Kathryn.
