Ric Ergenbright has been a landscape and travel photographer for more than 40 years, and has worked successfully on assignments for Outdoor Photographer, Reader’s Digest, Audubon, U.S. News, Life Magazine, National Geographic, and a host of other publications. His photographs regularly appear in major national ads, corporate reports, calendars, books and magazines. Currently, he’s pursuing higher perspectives of the world through remote controlled and powered paragliding aerial photography while also writing his next major book. Ergenbright has received numerous prestigious awards including Lowell Thomas Award, Pictures of the Year Award and the Nature’s Best Award, and is one of the few contemporary photographers represented in the exhibit, Odyssey: The Art of Photography at National Geographic.

Asked about how he got started in photography Ergenbright say it was by osmosis. His father was a professional writer, traveler, and photographer, and Ergenbright was heavily influenced by his father’s passion for those pursuits. He says that of particular significance was his father’s founding of the first photographic tour company in America in 1953, and the opportunity it gave him (Ergenbright) to take a semester off from college to join one of his tours to Japan dabbed “Thru The Lens.” Although Ergenbright had grown up in a photographic environment, he didn’t see it as his life’s focus until he went on that trip. That experience became a game changer, and he was hooked for life! Today, he’s represented by Danita Delimont, a stock photo agency that brings together top photographers from around the world.
